The brick and weatherboarded complex of Wright’s flour mill makes a pleasing sight among the river meadows. The  buildings date back to 1789 and include the miller’s house and offices with the three and a half storey watermill.

The site may have had a mill since Domesday. George Reynolds Wright took full control in 1870. 

When the water supply was cut off in 1913 by work at the reservoir, the machinery was converted to electricity.
